>>11434457>>11434473Oh Micron Legend definitely had a few less-preferable names lol ("Prime", "Bumble", "Double-Face", etc), I just think they're far outweighed by the rest of the characters' names in Micron Legend being more fitting, plus the names in Energon/Cybertron just wholly being lesser than the Takara counterparts lol.
Like for example, the Stunt Micron team + Sparkplug have better names in US, but then I prefer literally every other micron's JP name.
>Ironhide/DemolishorI usually call him the latter for clarity in discussions, but I think the former is more fitting for his personality, while the latter's more fitting for his toy design. So it's about equal. Also, in Super Link he's reanimated as "Irontread" so I like the name consistency.
>Rampage/WheeljackI just call him "Armada Sideswipe" lmfao, as that's clearly what the designers intended, and it fits his personality as "former Autobot, kinda edgy". Plus, Super Link literally has a G1 Wheeljack expy CALLED Wheeljack, and since I think Rampage is too harsh for an Autobot, there we go.
As a bonus
>Grap-Grapple/Smokescreen-HoistI use Grapple-Hoist for his two forms, I think it's a fair enough compromise between both versions.
Those last two are the only ones I basically fancanon names for, but only because they're special cases that kinda demand it lol. Otherwise yeah, my larger rule is basically just "sticking to JP names on the whole, with US names for only a literal handful of exceptions in the main cast (OP, Red Alert, Hot Shot, Sparkplug, the Stunt Trio, Sideways in Armada, Tidal Wave)".
