Built as the prototype for a new model of autonomous combat unit the SRP-1X was still incomplete when its factory came under attack from forces of the Neo Terran Federation. In desperation, as their facility was being blown apart around them, the engineering team activated the unfinished SRP-1X and sent it out in a desperate bid to buy time. The SRP-1X did more than buy time, advancing through the burning ruins of its birthplace it stalked and killed the hostile forces one after another.
After the embers had died the surviving members of the research team found the SRP-1X idling by the remains of an NTF KDR-44 'KillDozer' mech, a length of rebar impaled in the downed KDR's cockpit. The team recovered and repaired the SRP as best they could before setting out across the Ioen desert in search of friendly forces and a facility that would let them complete their mech.
The SRP-1X is fitted with a RM 105mm high velocity anti armour gun capable of penetrating the armor of most contemporary mechs, as well as 6 one shot Hollytech shortrange missile tubes. After the initial battle the tech team noticed that the SRP-1X had a weird preference for melee combat, attacking and downing multiple enemy units with improvised weapons. In response to this the team used some of the scarce resources they could find to fabricate a giant quad bladed mace for the mech, nicknamed "The Scrapper". SRP-1X has shown great enthusiasm in using this weapon.
