You can only give minorities bit parts, side kick roles, and sometimes forced racial make-over characters.
Better to give the keys to established trusted friends of the inner circle who are part of the establishment because they know better than everyone else out there.
PS, there's tons of minority creators making their own things and have been for decades, but don't get the marketing/hype that ^ gets. A lot of these are co-creations and collaborations that get a lot of love on /co/ and even on /toy/ (GI Joe, JLU, etc).
