>>7672291> Lego Death Star 2008 version> goes up for pre-order at 300€> everybody complains about the price being too damn high> I think it's a great deal for around 3800 pieces normally sets are 10 cents per piece so it should be 380€ at least> pre-order it> days after I did it the price is corrected to 400€> previous orders aren't adjusted so 100€ discount> manage to be a retarded teenager and let it sit long enough in a window to start yellowing> across the years I start selling more and more of its figures because I get more duplicates and improved versions through other sets> Lego releases an updated version with more and figures and better designs for 500€ and my set feels like an utterly worthless waste of space and money> manage to sell the model for 225€ to a mother and her child that didn't care that the pieces are somewhat discolored and that its figures are mock-ups made out of useless parts (to me)> sell the box to somebody else who wanted a box for a used version of the set to gift to christmas for 30€> manage to catch a very special discount and snatch the new version MISB for 323€ > haven't opened it yet, waiting for a better time in my life to have some fun "rebuilding" the last great toy of my childhoodIt's not normal that I have so much luck in evening my losses and taught me to not sell things from my new DS.
There is something nice and cozy in keeping a complete official set as a display piece in spite of my Star Wars collection otherwise being a huge mix of new and old parts, custom designs and modded sets to create what is the most accurate to me.
Picrelated are the figures I included with the old set. I just adore the mismatched, used and lovingly played with aesthetic. Originally I only wanted to get rid of some useless parts and overstock to add more bucks to my bottom line but it was hard to keep only a photo of them. I hope the kid has as much fun with this gang as I had assembling them.
