>>9994840I guess the obvious answer is because Mattel feels like the target market will buy the changed doll over the original doll? It’s expensive to bring new designs into production and make new molds. They’re not gonna do it randomly and for no significant reason. Other target being moms of the kids. There was a lot of pushback over the MH dolls being way too skinny when they first came out, skinnier than Barbie who has also definitely gotten a lot of pushback over time for being that thin. I was actually really surprised and pleased that they kept the Creeproductions and Skellector series close to the original forms and left them alone. Maybe they were hoping that would be enough to satisfy the OG fans. I prefer G2 articulated Cleo body and so I’ll probably just swap some heads for a couple that I like. I’m really glad the series is coming back but I’m also not personally a big fan of the new bodies either. Thankfully, there are lots of options for me to still enjoy the dolls in an altered state so I am OK with it overall. Cleo seems to be able to wear at least some the shoes from previous releases.
