>>8438841>>8438856>>8438864For me there's a race of large, silver armoured guys who were created by the Great Beings to defend the early universe, while it was still under construction and toa were still getting their shit together. They're basically very strong proto-toa (like thunder warriors vs space marines in 40k): they don't have elements but instead have a variety of skills and powers depending on the individual, and they can use mask powers.
>Axonn>Hydraxon>Shadow Stealer>TrinumaArtakha and Karzahni are perhaps members of this species but so much more powerful to be pretty much unique.
Brutaka I actually headcanon as being the same species as Gladiator, and they're both part of that species of 'four armed giants' that got mentioned like once.
There must still be a bunch of species but it doesn't need to be quite as retarded as pic related. With a bunch of characters it's very easy to say they belong to some other species we've seen but have unique abilities and appearances because of mutation and mechanical augmentation, like some of the Dark Hunters. There might also be dudes like Artakha and Karzahni who were just created unique by the Great Beings to serve some purpose.
One thing I didn't like was a new power or ability mandating some species which had it had to exist. Johmak couldn't just be a Vortixx who had some power that let her turn into crystals, she had to be from a *species* of people who look like Vortixx but who can all do that. When Botar dies they don't have to track down someone else who can teleport like him, they just immediately replace him with someone else from his species because they can apparently all do that. In my own autistic headcanon there's way more stuff like Kapura's moving quickly, Gali's psychic powers, Vakama's visions: some people train or are just born with additional abilities.
