1. That dinosaur was the very first Beastbox mold, so it's super simple. The line has come a long way and the engineering on some of them is crazy now.
2. I've tried the bootlegs and they were awful. So now you are experiencing a shit-quality copy of a toy that is already pretty low-tier within the line.
3. That first dino was made at a smaller size. Everything after that moved to a bigger box size that allows for much more complex transformations (see pic).
In summary, I really recommend you try a real one. Go for one of the popular ones everyone loves, like Demon Dart or White Noise. Beastbox is one of my favorite toylines of all time, and I have collected at least a bit from pretty much every big toyline in the last 15 years (both US and Japan), so that's saying something.
