I dislike the just, because every type of doll has its own benefits and not everything needs to be a BJD.
Pullips are made of ABS, have hinge joints and are (except for the MIO kits) sold as finished dolls.
They are very top heavy (extreme bubbleheads, like Blythe) with thin bodies.
No strings, eyes are set in with a mechanism, and with basic models wigs are glued on.
They have a totally different feeling compared to BJDs, but they are easy to customize and for many the first step into modern doll collecting.
Unlike BJDs they are also all made by one company (Groove).
A BJD is an+ overall type, while Pullip is a certain doll line by one company.
Wish I could have found a naked comparison, but this is a Soom 1/3 BJD (~65cm), Pullip, Blythe, Volks 1/6 BJD (~26cm).
