I was actually lucky enough to receive both + Castle Grayskull as a very small child, and I have the fewest fond memories of Snake Mountain. There was no interiority beyond a net to drop an intruder into once they'd reached the wolf gate to... nowhere. The toy designers focused on exterior play, but forgot to make the rock-cut steps wide enough for figures to actually stand on. And while you could load around 8 figures inside CG plus another figure or two up on the turrets, SM had no second floor, so as a base it offered little possibility besides having 4 Evil Warriors stand side by side.
The Mega Construx version is amazing, at least.
