It gets prohibitively expensive and time consuming to build anything of decent size, even the little 3-story modulars cost $200+ and involve dealing with thousands of pieces. Building a proper skyscraper or shopping mall or warehouse or anything is near impossible. You'd need an entire dedicated room if you wanted to even attempt an airport.
The one upside is you can get some very granular detail work, but in terms of everything else, I feel like Minecraft and other building games easily win out for designing buildings.
Lego is far superior for vehicles of course though.
