Not like these are anything special (and when extended there's an unsculpted back of the back of the thigh that the lower legs slot into. And like was said, there are many figures with really wide pants that are double jointed, like Geto (a really recent figure) and Big the Budo, and others. So it isn't like it isn't doable.
