>>9493854The previous SG was clearly made with a lot more care for transformers as a whole than the new one. Even if they weren’t all good ideas, every character and concept had a subtle or major inversion to set the universe apart. Things like sparks and space bridge being replaced with embers and stellar spanners. Seeing that the new comics didn’t even keep the concept of the Autobot seekers (which could’ve replaced the bodyscrappers) shows that they really just treat it as a palette swap. Especially since IDW already does the whole “Megatron is right, Optimus is wrong”.
