I dislike most painted figures that are released nowadays because the paint apps have gotten completely out of hand. Marty and Kent are prime examples of this--they advertise "X amount of paint apps!" like it's a good thing, but I really just think it makes the figures look busy as fuck. You ever hear the phrase "less is more?" You need some level of restraint, so that you can draw focus where you want. When there are 85 paint apps on a 4" tall figure, the eye doesn't know where to focus, it's a visual clusterfuck.
There will probably be people who disagree with me, but I find that things look the most harmonious with solid plastic colors ACCENTED by a few painted parts. I don't need nor want paint on every single possible surface.
