I'm glad to see other people do appreciate life on mars. I never hear it talked about and it always seemed snubbed to me.
>>6394507Yeah that was me. I just caved in and did like 6 separate orders.
>>6394503The jobs I'm assigning to the colors in my project so far are.
black-leader
purple-tube overseer
sand purple-tube mechanic
red-offense
blue-defense
gray-mech technician
lime-general worker
orange-biodium miner
tan-wastelander/scavenger
white-medical
In the official "story" lego released for the line they talked about how there was a martian rebellion. I guess maybe they don't abide by such constricting dress codes!
>>6394515Thanks, it's something I've always wanted to pursue since childhood and since I lost interest in direction modern lego has taken it's a nice alternative just to focus on a specific older theme instead.
>>6394521The colors are great. It always felt like a gradient from bright colors to gray and it made the translucent pieces really stand out. It reminded me of a laser tag place. And yeah the fragility of the martians is a problem for sure but the fact they had a completely different part structure helped them to feel more like aliens instead of just weird people like the stingrays for instance. It made them feel stranger and allowed the amazing tube system to work.
>>6394523I actually liked some of the vehicle designs but didn't like the black/lime white/orange colors. It's also whenever I started to notice lego seemed scared to do structures as opposed to 99% just being vehicles with nowhere to go.
Also the articulation-less jellybean "aliens" from that line are probably the worst lego figures ever created.
