What you can do is attach one effect and then attach others to that effect and see if you can create the effect of the ripple surrounding or coming out of his blade. I'm still messing around with some combinations but it can be done if you have the time and not forcing things.
As for the bigger parts I'm more keen on recommending you get SH Figuarts base packs since you need more arms and a base to use the entire effect set.
At the end It's a pretty good purchase if you want to pair Johnathan, Joseph, and Caesar with these but it's up to how you setup the effects for the display.
Also if you plan to use this on other figures it's not always a solid fit since the size of the wrist/sculpt can determine how well the smaller pieces can hook up.

All in all, You won't regret it since he's still solidly built but I noticed some anon's who got theirs, the smiling face had a slightly off eye but it's not always the case with all of them.
Though I will still wait for the day on that glorious purple Joseph color way.
