Destro had renounced his partnership with cobra and formed his own army, seeing as he was the primary source of arms for Cobra his Iron Grenadiers faction was better armed than Cobra, although it was smaller in number. In the comics I believe Dr Mindbender, Baroness and Scrap-Iron join the faction as well.
In Brazil the toyline included Overlord and Laser Viper under the IG banner. Rowdy Roddy Piper was the official troop trainer... I guess to combat Sgt. Slaughter.
They were honestly my favorite faction in the toyline when I was a little kid. Their designs were just really cool.
