I am new to scale modelling and have begun building a Tamiya 1/35 M41 Walker Bulldog Tank and am unsure how best to paint the model along with whether or not I need to apply a primer coat before painting and subsequently applying a clear coat.
If the following questions below could be answered I would very much appreciate it.
1. Is a primer coating required on a model before painting and if so will using a Light Grey or White Surface Primer spray can be sufficient before painting the tank?
2. Should I first assemble the model tank completely before applying a primer coat then painting it or should I paint the tank gradually as the assembly progresses?
3. Should I prime then paint the tank wheels seperately before fitting the wheels in place with plastic cement?
