While doing research for the thread I learned that Frame Arms Girl now has a PC/mobile game. Not too surprising as Kotobukiya has never stopped promoting the series and want it to grow in popularity. Maybe some of you already knew and wisely didn't bring it up.
But when I learned that it was powered by NFTs...Well, I shuddered and just stopped. It challenged my perception in a way that just didn't feel comfortable.
It asked me to consider that in overseas markets a new breed of stupid person was being made. A type of stupid person with the sophisticated brain power necessary to navigate these games and play them well, yet have such a basic and almost carnal understanding of value that they could be convinced that a $90 digital palette swap of Gourai could be a sound purchase in this or any reality. A literal flick of a database entry in a game they didn't even own.
...As opposed to using the real world money to purchase a real life Gourai of their own that they could keep and build and use or even store so that it may increase in value as time goes on.
I nearly had an aneurysm and am just so grateful that I could turn a blind eye to that world on fire and just come here and just shoot the shit with my fellow gentlemanly little robot lady enthusiasts as we discuss how to best craft plastic while occasionally sharing news of upcoming releases, straight from Japan no less.
And yeah, I get that gaming becomes more and more deplorable each year to the point that it's expected and now par the course, perhaps not even worth mentioning...
...But all this really makes me appreciate these threads a little more.
After the NFTge crashes and burns I hope we get a F.A.G. SRPG next.[/spoiler:lit]
