Heat by itself can be pretty bad too, but the humidity can cause more problems, like oxidizing the metallic bits of paint.
Which also applies to you (98° body temperature) handling the toy, rubbing away at the paint job with your acidic sweaty hands leaving behind greasy stains to fuck up the paint.
Everything will eventually rot, but somethings are better painted and made to prevent that from happening early. All bets are off when you're excessively sweaty and/or living in an armpit country/state
