Dolls have always been pretty articulated since the 90s and before. You'll find a bunch of creepyass 12" figures with all sorts of joints all the way back to the 1800s.
Anyway, if you ever kept track of things, Toy Biz was very much reactionary to McFarlane. You always saw McFarlane do something first and then you'd see Toy Biz doing the same. But then, same shit with other toy companies.
McFarlane is probably the most influencial toy company of modern times.
