>>10679672My Headcannon that Troopers were always bottom rung, just starting out basic grunts who would be used in any manner Cobra higher ups saw fit. Security, transportation, small scale combat, mechanics, janitors, etc etc. They were the bottom of the barrel starting point.
Vipers were always a step up and specialized for heavy combat. They had better gear, better guns and would only be called in when active combat was expected. At this point they would still be capable of pretty much every kind of job, but their focus would always be combat.
From there, they'd be split into more specialized Viper classes dependent on their skills and performance in certain areas. Specialized Vipers would outrank the basic ones and would often lead basic Vipers into combat if there weren't enough specialists to accomplish the job. Though in my collections, I used specialist Vipers as one off characters as it means I have less need to army build them.
Crimson Guard worked outside the system entirely and weren't specific upgrades like the rest. A Trooper *could* become a CG, but it wasn't a requirement. Anyone with the specific aptitudes and abilities required could be put into the CG program.
>>10681030Thanks for the heads up, I completely forgot these were going on sale. Hopefully my pre-order actually goes through, but knowing wal-mart I'll probably get "refunded" for one of the figures and get a package of beef jerky instead of the second.
....I really need to update this pic.
