>>9728085This right here is exactly why I got out of Yugioh
>>"Yugioh cards constantly get reprinted anyway so rarely does anything become extremely expensive unless it's a specific rarity"I was into the card game mainly for the game, and later when my cards were worth a bit cause I had many rare 1st edition cards from when the series started back in the early 2000's.
I still remember when my love for the game ended, The rare cards made the game more fun because not everyone had those cards and made certain decks rare in the meta game. I remember dropping about $150 for couple exodia cards to have a full set of exodia to make my ultimate exodia deck i wanted to build, which at the time was damn near unstoppable (rules and card bans later changed to make the deck illegal to play). But less then a year after dropping the cash for those expensive cards, Konami started mass producing the rare cards reprints like crazy so now those cards were everywhere and worse yet, it dropped any value for my current cards, making all 5 pieces of exodia worth less then $100 combined. Also rule changes to the game made the game less fun to play. When a single card has a mountain of text on it you need a microscope to read, that's when you know the card game is going the wrong direction for fun and more towards autistic.
The cards sat in my closet for years after that till I eventually just sold the whole lot for $50 and cut my loses to get rid of them. I didn't have time to babysit online auctions to sell them online.
Now I only collect things I enjoy, I don't care about value at all and only buy the things that spark joy in me regardless of price. which is usually weeb crap, but I enjoy it.
