Their whole business operates under expectations of balanced product input and output, they have to be able to sell consistently enough in order to keep buying whatever people bring them and still turn up a profit. But now people are bringing too much shit to sell them because they need money more than their collection while the customers aren't buying as much or straight up unable to buy because of all the shipping cockblocks happening worldwide. And they JUST opened like 3 or 4 new locations which likely wasn't easy financially and they were counting on stable business situation this year. Last week they started a promotion for Japanese customers where you get a flat rate shipping if you order a total of 10k or more worth of products, I've been following Mandarake closely for years and I've never seen them do anything like this before. Their desperation is real and I hope they recover from this somehow once the economy gets slightly better.
