As for yellowing plastic..I'm kinda undecided on that. I went out of my way to find the one Bandai figure release from Outlaw Star where the plastic/bubble wasn't turning brown yet (they don't yellow; they go from clear to like smoked brown), but it's a very fluid thing and I think with particular releases you'll just reach a point where you have to accept that ALL of them are going to end up yellowing unless they're kept in an oxygen free environment. Eventually collectors will just have to accept it and purchase with the intent to open if they want to display it.
Vintage 1/24th scale slot cars from the 1960s are facing the same thing right now. Collectors are still selling/buying the rare cars for high collar but the vacuum formed, Butyrate bodies are curling up more & more and eventually, they're all going to curl up. It's just the nature of the material. Eventually the collectors in that community will have to accept the Lexan repop bodies or just sit there bitter, in their underwear, staring at their cars with rage tears.
