>>8443033>b-b-b-but the guidebooks that literally are used by comic book writers is wrong because this one panel shows him turning into water!BTW, do you even know who Larry HAma and Andrew Wildman are?
Andrew Wildman was pretty much a d-list artist back in the 90s, doing shit that no one else wanted to. He was working on the GI Joe book after GI Joe was no longer popular and sales were near cancellation numbers. So it should say something about the book's quality.
Larry Hama was an a-list writer who also worked on GI Joe. He only got the book and was allowed to be a writer (he was just an editor before) because literally no one wanted to write GI Joe because of how licensed shit was seen as being cheap cash ins that dont last. GI Joe became one of Marvel's top selling comics, beating even XMen in the 80s. Anyway, because of this status, he was able to land the Wolverine comic book and some XMen titles. No one ever talks about these runs in a positive way, because most of his runs are forgettable and/or bad. His work on Venom was seen as garbage, hence everyone trashing those books and this is why Marvel eventually stopped doing Venom miniseries (nevermind he never got a solo book).
This is why that shit is mostly ignored and why the symbiote never gave the human shapeshifting abilities until the retcons of 2010... which are also shat on, hence only Carnage making use of the shapeshifting now that he's just a corpse and won't care if his bones are broken and pulverised.
And imagine that... they still use some logic for the current books, because they know that the symbiotes are just organic living things that aren't magical and a human would suffer a lot if it tried to do something a human body can't.
