>>5273121none of the artists explaining why they won't copy something were being whiny. starting off the conversation by calling artists "entitled" and "selfish" right off the bat for not copying others is what rubbed the artists the wrong way and makes YOU look like a cunt for being so judgmental and butthurt that artists won't do what you want them to.
the answers given are the only explanation you need and are very simple.
1. not wanting to lose face with other artists
2. not wanting to lose face with the community and be attacked for being a copycat
3. if you ARE the original artist and you had done an unique faceup for someone, and someone else wants you to copy it, you will lose the trust and insult the original customer, especially if they are a regular
4. losing business because of numbers 2 and 3.
5. not wanting to struggle to reproduce a faceup not done in your usual style, which results in a shitty faceup.
6. not being as skilled as the original artist, and thus you know you won't be able to do it as well, and don't want to put out shitty work.
there is nothing "selfish" or "entitled" about wanting to protect your reputation, your business, and your artistic integrity. but it is very selfish and entitled to expect artists to do whatever you tell them to just because you're throwing money at them.
