They feels pretty nice as shins so far, everything locks together pretty tightly and stays together perfectly, I'm pretty confident that these guys can hold up a rest of a devestator just fine. One thing though is that because Mixmaster's heel is propped up by his leg joint it's kind of dependant on getting his legs positionned perfectly to make sure the shin is sticking up straight properly, and not leaning forward or back slightly. It's not particularly clear in the instructions either but you have to extend mixmaster's body a bit on some sliders located in his chest (that lock into place) to make him match heights with Scrapper.
Maybe the only annoyance that could turn up is that their ankle joints work differently, Scrapper's ankle is just a simple hinge whereas Mixmaster's ankle is this little folding double hinge. Hopefully the asymmetry doesn't end up being annoying.
You can also mistransform Mixmaster if you want the bumpers of the cab to show instead of the green toes, but the cab's wheels only clear the ground with the toes out, so while it certainly is an option it probably won't be as stable in combined mode with the front of one of his feet being free spinning wheels.
