>>8637593After manipulating mine a bit, here is a general idea that I have; but I'm not assuming any responsibility in this matter:
Cutting through the two portions marked in red should hopefully allow you to remove that L-shaped piece to free the socket from one of the two pegs of the hip hinge piece. But that should let it free the leg entirely. Then angling the new leg into that hinge should allow one peg to slide into the groove of the socket, and that hopefully gives the clearance needed to have the other peg enter in on the opposite side. All that should remain after that is sliding the pegs in to lock at the bottom of the socket.
