>>7512272>Hasbro doesn't own an exclusive contract for Star WarsNot in fact but most people will just assume they do, thanks to them buying out Kenner which has been the de facto SW toy company since day one and being the primary toy producer. Jakks only makes large scale figures, Sideshow/Hot Toys makes only super expensive 1:6 stuff, Bandai stuff apparently can't really be sold at retail in the US and must be imported... I could imagine people confusing the current Hot Wheels with Micro Machines or Titanium though, but Hasbro makes the action figure side of things and is the company most will associate with SW toys.
That said these Forces of Destiny dolls were ruined hard by the budget. Look at this, it's like those year 2007 12" Joes with only some soft goods clothes, and if they couldn't be bothered to make the pack-in small figures to scale they should have been scrapped. R2 should be to her waist, not her knees. Hasbro is such a fuck-up of a company and with SW they got lazy assuming the brand alone would sell toys- in part because it has for 20 years and also because hardcore Hasbro fans are delusional and buy anything, but that shit won't prop up the real market forever.
