I dont live at home anymore but I think my family thinks its OK. When I was still at home I collected mostly Nintendo stuff and my dad liked it. If he's out shopping now he'll sometime send me pictures of Nintendo toys he sees in stores asking if I have it already or things like that. I dont really show my family besides from my brother my nippon plastic shit I've gotten into over the past few years. My brother's a nerdy type too though so he's chill with it. He doesnt really understand why its so expensive though, which is why he doesnt collect himself. I've occasionally bought him some /v/ type stuff though since he likes that sort of thing (doesnt like anime too much, only watches a select few). Loves Majoras Mask so I got him that link nendo for his birthday this year.
I'm married now to my husband (femanon) who is nerdy but has much different interests than I. He likes a select few nipnop figures and toys but not many. He hates vintage toys though which I love. I'd say he's more interested in Western series getting toys but all thats available is disgusting (mostly Funko pop). He really likes cute stuffed animals though so I cant complain about that.
Sometimes he tells me he thinks we have too much stuff, like I should stop buying toys. And jesus it makes me so upset/sad. I can see where he's coming from but this is one of my favorite hobbies. I always tell him its because we live in a small space (basement suite) and the solution isnt too stop buying toys but to get a bigger house lmao.
