>>9977883The reason sofubi is so cool is because there's so, so many artists and designers that make things- wild, crazy, imaginative things that you'd never see anywhere else. I have hundreds of sofubi at this point and feel much as you do- that 90% or more of sofubi in general looks pretty terrible. But that's fine, I'm glad people are making what they want. And it means that when I do find stuff that resonates with me, I go for it.
I first bought a few at c2e2 in Chicago, and then started actively going to more cons and checking out boutique vinyl based toy stores when visiting major cities with them. Now they make up at least half of my toy purchases, and certainly are some of the most exciting.
Can't pick favorites, but one I really like is this little Coelacanth Tank.
