No BB in the mail for me today either so off to the stash for an IFV instead, Modelcollect's 1/72 BMP-3. First observation: they originally released a limited edition full interior version of this kit and then various regular boxings (with no claims of full interior) of which this is one. The interior's still there though, both in the plastic and in the instructions. The metal barrel promised on the box on the other hand isn't.
Starting out with the drive sprockets and we're off to a...start. First note in the instructions how there's a hole in part F10, this corresponds to a peg on part F15. Now compare that with the amount of holes in the actual part F10. On the plus side F10 fits very snugly into the drive sprocket otherwise, ie annihilate that peg and the sprocket will still centre itself nicely.
Second, note part FE13 in the instructions, with small holes to suggest bolts and a line along the surface. Then we look at the actual part FE13 and the bolt holes and line have ended up on opposite sides of the piece.
(Also, if you're clever, don't glue FE13 in place until after you've attached the link-n-length tracks around the drive sprocket.)
