But regardless, glasses as a whole don't function without ears. They would have to be bevelled in the middle to maintain the function of sitting atop the nose and against the eyes. There would be one piece of glass rather than two.. Anyway.
On that topic, are there glasses out there that aren't bulky pieces of shit or printed on clear plastic laminate things?
