>>8092100This is my take too. I don't get the appeal personally. It seems like when something is labeled a 'designer' toy with a high price point and no justficiation for it, I see a scam. Not to say all are like that, just seems to be a general stereotype based on my experience. I also don't get the ones that just take a strange approach to well known characters, like a cross-section of Mickey Mouse or a fat version of ceral mascots. Just don't get the appeal.
I do buy indepedently produced figures/figurines quite frequently. The difference in my eye is that those are usually affordable for most people, are usually of characters that don't get any/much merchandise, or are original designs that aren't associated with anything.
