But the outer shape (the black), can be fine tuned with a toothpick. I scrape away any lumpy or mishaped edges with a toothpick I’ve sharpened using an xacto knife. Or if you’re feeling lazy don’t even paint the entire eyes, just paint over the pupils and whites to follow factory edges. Use actual eyes for reference. People often paint pupils in the direct middle where it’ll give a sorta wall eyed effect, even if the sculpt is symmetrical and properly proportioned. Finally, never use a camera as a judge for how well painted your eyes are. It’ll just pick out your imperfections. This is like, one of the most difficult and crucial details of painting and it’s a pain in the ass every time, but with enough dedication, patience, and trial and error, you can get something that’ll pass for a shelf figure.
