There are a number of figures that use it so poorly. Diecast gives can help with stability in the feet, reinforce delicate areas, and provides heft that can feel great. But there's a risk of paint chipping, colors mismatching, and wearing out or weighing down joints which compromises stability. There's appropriate and downright awful applications of it and many figures fall into the latter.
