In the late 90s just as the quality of Barbie started to decline, they re-released a second version with cheap painted on stockings. That's also around the time that they switched from securing Barbies clothing in the back with quality metal buttons to cheap velcro, and when they replaced Barbie's iconic body mold to the 2000s body mold. There's also a more adlut looking version by Mattel that included a PVC figure of the cat.
