I keep a few select figures on package, mostly out of nostalgia. I don’t actively seek them out, but if I find them at a thrift shop or comic store I’ll add them to my collection. It reminds me of going to stores as a kid and studying all the packages to decide what to buy, which is almost as much of an experience as the toy itself. I miss the days where original art and bios wee a common thing on packages.
My rule is general if a character has another, better figure, or I can easily get the same figure loose for cheap, I’ll keep it in package. Conversely, something like MOTUC, I’ll always rip off the cards, because those need to be posed
