Engineering: it really hasn't changed. They just change things up, because most joints we see today have been around since at least 2001. Only sculpt has changed, in that they integrate that engineering into the sculpt better. So this comes down to the quality of the sculptors.
Like i said, it comes down to who has access to better sculptors and stuff like pic makes it painfully obvious of how bad Bandai is, since it's the same characters but made by different companies.
Bandai simply doesn't have the talent other companies have and that's why stuff doesn't actually improve with them, it just changes from release to re-release. This is also why people will recommend the $20 model kit over the $80 SHF figure, despite both being made by Bandai and sometimes released less than a year apart.
