I lived in the middle of fucking nowhere in a dead coal mining towns in the mountains of Appalachia, and most of the kids I grew up with had internet even before then or soon after. I mostly spent my time on anime fansites and fucking around with my Geocities page (a terrible page that was basically nothing but Dragon Ball Z gifs).
