I can understand someone who wants Ghostbuster toys because they love the films, or Pokemon toys because they love the games, but what is the drive to collect figures that aren't based on anything and exist only as toys? Don't get me wrong these figures look cool, and as a kid I would have enjoyed playing with them, but as an adult where I am mainly going to just put them on display, I guess it's harder for me to justify getting something that isn't from a movie, game, show, book, anime, etc. that I have history with. Is it as simple as you think they look cool and just want to display cool looking shit?
