Anyone know how long it took Capcom to produce Marvel Super Heroes, or any other arcade game? I assume at least a year or two, so at the time they were working on it, that was what Iron Man was wearing in the comics. The irony is that by the time the game was released in 1995, Marvel was doing a storyline where Tony changed his armor and made into a villain, killed off, and replaced by a teenage version of himself. Don't read that story, it was fucking bad.
Since Capcom already did the character sprite work on Iron Man they stuck to that design even though he wasn't wearing it in the comics at the time of MSH and MvC2, so now everyone associates it with the Capcom games.
