It is from a 1982 anime film called Techno Police 21C. The robot is 210cm tall and needs to be given commands to function. It serves as the robot partner of the protagonist.
The bot was designed by Miyatake Katsutaka(Macross battle pods and destroids, Yamato earth ships, SRWOG Hagane etc).
Despite not knowing the source material, I find that design intriguing as it represented the Armic styled sci fi aesthetics from the 80s.
It was probably a bridge between the 70s styled streamlined sci fi heroes to the more sci fi 80s style introduced by Macross.
I always saw Studio Nue styled and Sunrise designs as two separate dichotomies for 80s sci fi/mecha. Though, the Studio Nue ones died out by the 90s I would say.

Aoshima model kit was pretty cheap though, though the vintage edition ones are 10k.
