>>10159452There's the regular modern Mickey, the Steamboat Willie Mickey, the CG from kids cartoons Mickey, Mirrorverse Mickey, other versions of Mickey from different games, and all of these are widely known and produced in products.
If you asked someone what color Pikachu is, they'll tell you it's yellow. If you ask them what color Charizard is, they'll probably say orange. If you ask them what color Tyranitar is they'll probably say "is that a Pokemon?", and that goes for the rest of the Pokemon aside from the few 'iconic to the masses' Pokemon there are.
Let's say Jazwares started doing chase variant shinies like they do with their AEW figures, which I hope they don't desu, and random mom sees a shiny of Dragapult and a regular one, does anyone truly think 'branding' matters in this case? If there was a 1/3000 sticker or something, then it might pique her interest and she may call her kid who likes Pokemon about it and ask if it's something of interest. Aside from that, the image of Dragapult will not live on in her head. Pikachu and Charizard will be what she may remember regarding Pokemon, like she knows Mario for Nintendo. A black Charizard, slightly more orange Pikachu, or Fire or Star Mario aren't going to not allow such a person to recognize these characters.
