You are exactly one of those "rivet complaining" people I cited, I yearn for the days where nothing had to make sense and silly shit was poppin off all the time. It was loose, free-form sci-fi governed entirely by rule of cool, and 40K is anything but that nowadays.
tl;dr: it's stodgy people like you that made 40K boring. You had to have a logical explanation for everything and try to drag 40K into the dull-ass real world.
