>>8628171Okay so to anyone interested I decided to cut a T profile channel down the side and make a plaplate cap to fill the channel end, which very conveniently only required two pieces of 1mm thick plaplate stacked together to make, and then just jammed it in to cut and sanded flush in-situ. Once cleaned up and painted it should simply look like a bit of additional detailing, but it's not going to be prominent either way. Stability wise it feels very sturdy with the friction of the channel holding the joint in place without feeling loose or wobbly, while the arm and cap still being removable if held against something and pushed out. One tip if you want to replicate this is if you leave a slight hump just before the joint hole so you get a nice tactile click when you push the arm joint into place, that way you know it'll retain itself nicely.
