>>9740202>/toy/ gunpla/plamo general was created to escape the faggotry and elitism of the /m/ gunpla generalAs someone who's posts on both boards regularly, this is 100% bullshit. I remember there being /toy/ gunpla threads regularly as far back as 2011, while /m/ didn't have a regular Gunpla/Plamo General until after the board got hyped up on gunpla after the first Build Fighters anime finished airing, so around early 2014. There's a ton of evidence for this out there too (ex: the first regular /m/ GPGs popping up in late February/early March of 2014, Gelgoog Guy having /toy/ groupbuilds as far back as 2012/2013 linked on his blog). Much of the other stuff you said like "they were politely told to go to the /m/ gunpla general because most of the painters in this thread weren't experts" is bullshit too since again, many of the people in the /m/ threads were people that were already posting in the /toy/ threads in the past like Richigo.
The faggotry and elitism that permeates the /m/ general comes from a few factors
>As people kept bitching at Snapfit-Kun to make more than the minimal effort with his kits, it ingrained the seeds of the "Paintfag vs snapfag" mentality that plagues the thread to this day. >/m/ being a much faster board than /toy/ as well as most of the /m/ posters being retards who constantly take the bait leads to a lot of dedicated shitposters in threads using the same dumb tactics (ie: 1/100 is an odd scale and Bandai is killing off MGs, O MY ORANGE PEEL, pulling bad paintjobs from Reddit for easy (You)s) regularly. >You think /toy/ has a lack of moderation? Posts in the /m/ thread almost never get deleted unless it's obvious shitposting with wojaks. In comparison the /toy/ thread is a lot more laid back, but 4chan overall has become more nihilistic/crabby with its posting compared to how it was 6-7 years ago on all fronts. It's just the times changing.
