Jap toys are not perfect quality (depending on brand and type, molding is nearly Lego tier though) but they exist at price ranges (they are overpriced desu) practically unheard of for equivalent western toys. This is the only reason they are better, there is actually an established market for the higher quality japanese toys. That being said, unrestrained toy design and engineering is awesome; bless the Japs for not dumbing down their toys or keeping them to stringent price limits.
It doesnt matter for childrens toys, a premium hotwheels and tomica is comparable etc. since they have the same purpose and target consumerbase.
Gasha are an exception since they are basically blind bag toys for anyone, lots of great design concepts western toys just wouldnt have.
Lego is pretty cool btw, never cared too much about building block quality if it fits together though.
