I used to be a HUGE ToyBiz stan, but at some point I looked back at them and realized that even though they had awesome sculpted bases and more joints and more complex paint apps and washes, a good number of them were just ugly at the end of the day. They had bizarre proportions and bulbous joints, and a lot of them were heroin-thin and sickly looking. Most of the unmasked facesculpts from this era were also terrifying.
The best thing Hasbro brought to the table was consistency--they don't often deliver us malformed abominations like ToyBiz sometimes did (the women suffered particularly hard). I'm still holding onto some gems from the ToyBiz era, but for the most part, Hasbro has won me over. They're just doing a good job these days.
