>>7173434He's drawing a comparison to popular, actual iconic prequel characters/designs, to the sequel characters.
Hes saying just because it's Star Wars, that's the only reason they're know and popular like the prequel characters, but this isn't true at all.
>>7173436>Anyway the prequels came out in a golden age of toys. The golden age happened in the 80s.
The 00s was bigger in profits, but profits were bigger than the 00s in the 10s too. IT's just how the market works. The 80s created their own toy franchises instead of latching onto licenses.
Still, you're retarded for drawing comparisons to the sequels, when they are reviled in ways the prequels weren't. It doesn't matter what era they came out in, because content is king. Story, characterization, and even action.
Design still sells over anything, which is another point on why the sequels are doing so poorly in terms of sales and in the eyes of fans. The prequels maybe disliked for stupid dialogue (so was the OT when it came out) and other issues, but everyone and their mother praised the designs for the prequels.
This is why the prequels HAVE held up with age and why all the spin offs did as well as they did.
